Keep your eye on the tide from the comfort of this super-duper stylish little fisherman's cottage. Bijou, beautiful and bound to become a favourite with those who adore the charm of this busy, quaint seaside town and enjoy the ease of having just about everything on the doorstep.
Quay View Cottage has not been given its name without justification. Set on the brow of a hill, just a stone's throw from the Quay, you can watch the day and tidal changes unfold before you, while you luxuriate in bed, make some breakfast or enjoy your first cuppa of the day, just drinking in the view. The cottage is compact but makes up for it in spades with character, cosiness and a very clever use of space. Yes, the stairs are traditionally steep but this is Norfolk coastal living in its truest form and all part of the experience. When you've managed to stop staring at the view and divert your gaze indoors, you will find it just as pleasing on the eye. Cool and relaxing Scandi-style throughout with warmth from a flourish of colour here and there and a wood burning stove which is oh! so very lovely when lit on a frosty day and you just fancy snuggling up with a good film or book. On the ground floor the kitchen is small but perfectly formed, and caters for all you will need, and the adjoining dual aspect sitting/dining room invites you to chill, chat and catch up. Climb the stairs to the first floor and you will find two lovely, comfy bedrooms (super-king/twin and a twin) plus a very smart bathroom. Another set of stairs takes you to the top floor master bedroom suite which really has the best view of all, and the glorious convenience of its own en-suite.
This is the perfect getaway for couples, or a small family, looking for both short and longer breaks. Step out of the front door, and which way do you turn? Walk down to the Quay with its bars and restaurants, perhaps walk onwards to the beach, maybe head straight on to the heart of the town, Staithe Street, with its cornucopia of shops, cafes, galleries and arts centre or don your walking boots and stretch your legs on the North Norfolk Coastal Path? So much choice, and all within easy reach. In the unlikely event that you have the time or feel the need to explore further afield, worry not, just jump aboard the Coasthopper and let it take you there.
Additional Information: Sorry, no pets, but please be aware that the owner's dog visits occasionally. Suitable for a maximum of four adult guests please. The stairs to both upper floors are steep and narrow and could be a problem for anyone with mobility difficulties, as well as young children. A portable stair gate is provided. Synthetic duvets and pillows. Parking costs correct at time of writing - subject to annual increases.
